Sandy Hamilton Opposes SAFE-T Act

Rep. Sandy Hamilton, Candidate for State Senate in the 48th District releases statement on the SAFE-T Act:

“Radical far-left Democrats passed the SAFE-T Act in the middle of the night while most of us were sleeping. This bill will make our communities less safe by forcing prosecutors to let violent criminals off easy, including for crimes like armed robberies, drug trafficking, and even homicides. It’s such a radical bill that even Democrat State’s Attorneys are voicing their opposition to the bill. In Sangamon County alone, over 100 criminals will be let out on the streets on January 1st. I demand that Doris Turner come to her senses on the dangerous SAFE-T Act and put the families of the 48th District above politics.”

Sandy Hamilton Supports Law Enforcement

Rep. Sandy Hamilton, Candidate for State Senate in the 48th District releases statement on the SAFE-T Act and law enforcement:

“The Safe-T Act, backed by JB Pritzker and Doris Turner, will make our communities less safe by putting dangerous and violent criminals back on the streets after they’ve been arrested. This slap-on-the-wrist behavior for serious crimes and offenses puts a big strain on our already understaffed police departments. While the Springfield Police Department has just hired a new freshman class of police officers, they still have over 15 vacancies yet to fill, and with each year they’re seeing fewer individuals apply for open positions. I’m proud to stand with our local law enforcement and as your Senator, I will be sure to vote to repeal the Safe-T Act to restore real safety to our communities.”

Sandy Hamilton Supports Abolishing Grocery Tax

Rep. Sandy Hamilton, Candidate for State Senate in the 48th District releases statement on the grocery tax:

“In JB Pritzker and Doris Turner’s economy, Central Illinois families have to pay more to put less food on the kitchen table. Now, Illinois Democrats believe they can trick us by offering up temporary election year gimmicks that expire after November. I’m calling on the legislature to permanently abolish Illinois’ grocery tax so that Illinois families can feel long-lasting relief and a real reduction in their cost of living.”

Sandy Hamilton Opposes Property Tax Increases

Rep. Sandy Hamilton, Candidate for State Senate in the 48th District releases statement on property taxes:

“High property taxes are not only crushing Illinois families, but they are causing families to flock to our neighboring states. The average working family here in Central Illinois has seen their property taxes go up by over $2,000 since JB Pritzker and Doris Turner have pushed their legislation through. Families are feeling the burden of high property taxes even more with inflation hitting 9% this year. However, JB Pritzker and Doris Turner’s government officials are saying your property taxes could see an increase of 5%. I’m demanding that local officials oppose any more burdensome property tax increases so that working families here in the 48th District can keep more of their hard-earned money.”

Sandy Hamilton Stands Up for Parental Rights

Rep. Sandy Hamilton, Candidate for State Senate in the 48th District releases statement on the education system:

“Doris Turner believes that government knows best on how to educate our children. While Illinois spends the most money per student in the Midwest, a big chunk is blown on the inflated education bureaucracy. When I get to the Senate, I’ll fight to restore the power that parents should have, a voice in their children’s education, by backing legislation that enshrines parental rights and requires school districts to be transparent about the curriculum, materials, and activities that are in use in their districts. I demand that Doris Turner stops failing our students and starts protecting parental rights instead of the corrupt educational machine.”

Sandy Hamilton Opposes Gas Tax Increases

Rep. Sandy Hamilton, Candidate for State Senate in the 48th District releases statement on the gas tax increase:

“The Democrat Solution to soaring inflation? More tax increases. While Illinois families continue to see less of their paycheck due to high inflation, Doris Turner and JB Pritzker thought it would be a good idea to take even more of their hard-earned money by doubling the state’s gas tax. I call on Doris Turner to rethink her stance to stand with residents of the 48th district to repeal the Democrat’s gas tax—putting the money back where it belongs, in the hands of the families that earned it.”
